Teaches IMC 612 - Audience Insight and IMC 622 - Multicultural Marketing
Kathleen DeMarco has collaborated with both external and internal audiences, including news assignment editors and reporters at media outlets in some of the country’s largest cities. DeMarco advanced environmental and economic initiatives for the land-grant colleges of Georgia, Maryland and New York with press initiatives, television hosting and legislative liaison. She was a national winner of the Pioneer Award from the Agricultural Communicators in Education.
DeMarco taught diverse student populations at Georgia State University and Suffolk Community College, a SUNY unit. Recent conference presentations reflected her research interests in ethnography and marketing cohorts, which factor into IMC 612 Audience Insight.DeMarco worked at the International Broadcast Center (IBC) during the Atlanta Olympic Games. She translated the script of the closing ceremonies into French to assist radio broadcasts into West Africa. She was on a Rotary Group Study Exchange (GSE) to northeastern Japan. Her undergraduate degree is from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Missouri, and her master’s is from the University of Georgia. She completed additional graduate work in public communication at the University of Maryland and web usability at Florida State University.
