Melvin Landry

Melvin is the Director of Strategic Sourcing for Caesars Entertainment in Las Vegas, NV. Melvin is also a certified online master reviewer with Quality Matters reviewing strategic management courses. Melvin has been a member of the WVU faculty teaching in IMC program and department of Journalism since 2006 and has taught at other notable institutions such as the University of Liverpool (UK), Bellevue University of Nebraska, and Central Michigan University.

Melvin has previously served in marketing and commodity/energy procurement roles with other notable companies such as Kraft Foods North America and JBS Swift and Company. Melvin holds a B.S. and M.S. degrees in Agricultural Economics from Southern University and A&M College in Baton Rouge & the University of Arkansas respectively along with a MBA in marketing from the University of New Orleans. Melvin currently serves as an Advisory Board member of Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences (MANRRS). In this position, Melvin is responsible for setting organization strategic direction and soliciting governmental sponsorships. Melvin is also is a member of the United States Distance Learning Association and Institute of Supplier Management.

Melvin’s current research interests includes promotional marketing through digital technology, and CRM platform development perspective, and exploring economic costs/benefits of climate change & the effects of alternative energy sources for vehicles worldwide and the marketing implications of such a transformational change from an economic standpoint.

Melvin is a native of south Louisiana and hobbies include running for distance, traveling to professional sports games and collecting historical art in the areas of carnival and civil rights history.
