Rebecca Andersen is an award-winning, accredited communications strategist with more than 15 years of experience in technology communications and marketing. She is passionate about integrated, research-based, measurable communications that work to support overall business objectives. Anderson was named one of PR News’ “15 to Watch under 30” in 2007 and is a winner of various campaign-based awards, such as: Marcom Creative, Magellan and Communicator Awards.
Andersen is a trusted adviser to senior leadership, internal and external clients alike with strategic skills matched by impeccable on-the-ground savvy and tactical abilities. She is the director of public relations for The Optical Society: http://www.osa.org/en-us/home/. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., The Optical Society is the leading professional association for optics and photonics professionals.
Andersen is a graduate of West Virginia University’s Integrated Marketing Communications program. In addition to her master’s degree, she studied at the graduate level at the University of North Florida and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in marketing from American University, Washington, D.C. As an active member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), she served as the 2014 president for the National Capital Chapter:http://www.prsa-ncc.org/, the largest PRSA chapter in the United States.
