Capstone Experience – Capstone
is an incredibly rigorous and time
consuming course that tests your skills, knowledge and creativity. There
were times where I questioned my abilities and sanity because I felt
that capstone had completely consumed my life. But I must say that as
difficult as the course was, it was equally as
rewarding. Once I had completed my final proposal and put it in the
mail, the biggest weight was lifted off my shoulders and I was finally
able to recognize what an accomplishment it was.
future capstoners, I have a few pieces of advice. The first is to stay
organized and try not to get behind. The course is very
fast paced and once you are behind it is difficult to catch up. Next, I
would suggest taking time off from capstone even if it is just for a few
hours each week. The project is daunting and can make you go crazy if
it’s all you think about. Taking some time
off by doing what makes you happy could also boost your creativity.
Lastly, make sure you tap into all the resources you are offered. Don’t
be afraid to reach out to your professor or classmates for help and
advice. Their perspective might provide you with
the added insight you were looking for.
Good luck future capstoners! Just remember the challenge is worth the reward!
