M.S. in IMC Curriculum

The WVU IMC program is always evolving to meet the needs of professionals in our dynamic industry. You will gain practical and experiential knowledge of every aspect of IMC from advertising to social media to PR to creative strategy and beyond. Effective Fall 2019, the degree program requirements include 10 courses, totaling 30 credit hours, that can be taken at whatever pace is most convenient for you.

Introduction to IMC

In your first course in the WVU IMC program, you'll explore the fundamentals of Integrated Marketing Communications. You'll also immerse in a comprehensive orientation to the WVU IMC graduate program, ensuring your success in future courses.


 

Core Courses

Core courses are offered every term. You can be complete the core courses in any order. This flexibility enables you to customize your academic journey by selecting and completing the courses that are most relevant to your current professional goals early in your studies.


 

Specialty Courses

Specialty courses are offered nearly every term. You are encouraged to select the two specialty courses with which you have the least amount of prior experience, thus opting out of the two specialty courses that most closely align with your prior professional and academic experience.


 

Elective Courses

A wide variety of elective options enable you to focus on individual areas of interest within the IMC spectrum and truly customize your degree. Elective options are offered on a rotating schedule based on student demand.


 

IMC Capstone: Campaigns

In your final course, you will apply the knowledge gained through the WVU IMC graduate program to create an Integrated Marketing Communications campaign for a real-world client. You can even choose to work on a client of your preference or on a national client provided by your instructor.
