Neelesh Varde is a Global Product Manager at Roquette and an adjunct instructor for both the WVU IMC and DMC programs. He is the developer and current instructor of the IMC Global Brand Communication Course and the DMC Data Visualization course.
In his current position at Roquette, Neelesh is involved in management of several
global brands of food and pharmaceutical products, and heavily involved in data
visualization through pricing and sales management.
Previously while at the University of Michigan, Neelesh worked in developing the infrastructure for one of the first distance learning classes offered in the School of Engineering, Chemical Reaction Engineering (ChE 344). His background includes a B.S. from the University of Michigan (summa cum laude) and an M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business (with Honors) with concentrations in Marketing Management, Econometrics & Statistics, and Finance.

- Dr. Varde encouraged discussion on the board and made it a point to comment and provide feedback on each classmate's post. He encouraged new questions for us to consider regarding the weekly topic at hand, which strengthened our analytical skills regarding global marketing strategies.
- I liked his casual approach to the boards. He encouraged convo but didn't overcomplicate things, which allowed for a more productive discussion.
- Professor Varde is the best professor yet with regards to keeping classmates engaged on discussion boards. He did a great job of pushing students to dig deeper and provide more insights, but also kept the conversation going (and growing) within each thread. If students missed part of the initial discussion requirement, he asked questions to help students round out their initial posts. He expected students to be engaged throughout the week, but I often felt like I had to keep up with him because he appeared to read everything and jump in with great antidotes and questions.
