Dr. Sammy Lee is an associate professor at West Virginia University’s Reed College of Media, where he serves as chair of the strategic communications program and head of the advertising sequence.
In the past, Lee has taught advertising and mass communication courses at Pennsylvania State University as a full-time professor. Lee’s research includes internet advertising effects and framing related theories. Lee currently focuses on the application of the inoculation theory in the field of strategic communication.
Lee earned his doctorate degree in mass communication from Pennsylvania State University in 2004. He received a master’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University in 1986. He earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations from Chung Ang University, in Seoul, South Korea, in 1984.
Lee has more than 10 years of professional experience in advertising and persuasive communication. He worked as an account executive for Cheil Communications and as the advertising manager for Samsung Electronics America. He has also worked for CCAI, an advertising agency based in New Jersey.
